Hi,

In the Feb 06 edition of MOTORSPORT, in a piece about Andy Wallace and Group C Sportscars, there is a photo of the 1989 Takefuji liveried 962 porsche that was driven by Alesi Dobson and Will Hoy at Le Mans.

The photo shows a Swedish flag next to Will Hoys name, yet all my searches show him to be British and credited as British in race results.

Any ideas why this might be ??

Regards

If I remember correctly, Swede Stanley Dickens also drove that car, although not at Le Mans in 1989.(He was busy being part of Sauber's winning team). Will Hoy was indeed a Brit, sadly he passed away a few years ago from a cerebral malignancy at the tragically young age of 52. He had done well in Clubmans, also in saloons and various other categories including some stunning C2 poles in Martin Schanche's Argo. At Le Mans in 1988 or 1989, Hoy's Japanese team caused no end of humour...the driver's name on the cockpit reading Hoy Will smile.gif

In 88 the car was driven by Ejh Elgh (spelling) hence the Swedish flag. Co drivers were, I think Jarier and Brian Redman. I am sure someone will correct me if not.
