Its not your PC Im afraid, its the site where the pics being hosted. Maybe the person who posted the pic had cancelled their account, or reached their usage limits or just taken the picture off.

Better late than never... I'm a newbie on this list. David Prophet was my Dad. I've recently been going thru many photos and paperwork relating to his racing. Amongst them are photos of various transporters. Also some shots from 1964. I was a few weeks old, mum and dad were in south africa towing cars on a trailer between meetings. Mum describes a mishap on a dirt road resulting in the trailer uncoupling and them seeing one of the cars from the trailer passing the towing car! The tow car ended up in a ditch but my carrycot, suspended from the ceiling, remained horizontal. Needless to say Dad took little comfort in that and tore after the car. I will scan in photos of any of this stuff if you are interested.
Welcome to TNF, Jane.
I'm sure that any such pictures, anecdotes or other information would be warmly greeted here!

Jane,
Good to see you on this list. I've always said that it was walking past the garage in Kings Norton on the way to school (I lived at the end of Icknield Street right on the edge of the countryside and went to Broadmeadow Infants & Juniors) that MUST have kindled my love of all things F1 and associated bits. I still remember the sights and sounds that were to be had on occasions.
I firmly believe that there is a book to be had out of your Dad's life and I for one would love to see some photos from the "old" days!

Bjorn, I don't recall seeing a picture of Andre's transporter in 1961. The only one I remember is the Ford van (he was a Ford dealer then) with Gordini written on its sides in the 50s.
I'm not sure if it was in 61 but I, sonehow, think he travelled with Parnell. Maybe I've seen a b&w picture of the transporter with two or three cars.

Hello Antoine , thanks for your info. The "Gordini" Ford van , would that have been painted yellow? Any info ,even guesses is welcome here , because its a difficult area of motor racing to search ! But slowly , I think its building up. Paddock pics is also seldom but often contain many infos. Some of the drivers then didnt have transporters and took a car on san open trailer which was even less an eye opener to a "real" transporter. I thought Andre could have been one of them , but the Parnell idea ? Why not , but then Andre would have driven his personal car to the tracks. Please if you get some new info , come back , 50es or 60es .
Bjørn
I have seen your name many times , family?
PS2 I also saw some pictures fra the Pilette archive hoping, but I cannot find it ,many times just a glimse of a transporter or van .......

Bjørn, sorry for not responding to You earlier (and if I misspelled Your name, all of the sudden I have probs with fonts), but the book was on loan, and I've just got it back... Unfortunately I don't have the scanner, but I'll keep You in mind if I lay my hands on one.
Regarding Brabham photo (Spa '62), I'm not entirely sure, but it looks that Lotus is on trailer being pulled by a light coloured van (both carrying reg no 776 NPG). Other than that not much can be seen.
There are two more photos that show trailers You might be interested in- Ferrari transporter arriving at Spa '62, and 'paddock at Rouen the same year. Latter one has Cooper transporter, barely visible van with a trailer, mostly obscured transporter with visible (but IMHO uniteligible) reg plate atop, Porsche trailer and support van, then two trailers (first one reg VWE 63 and some writing on the back; most of the 2nd one is also obscured but part of the side can be seen- must have some writing framed by two lines). Parked opposite to transports are few Lotus cars (Trintignant and Gregory), Hill with his BRM, another BRM a nd a car that seems to be fresh from one of those transporters (#42)...
