Wow! these are not only interesting pics of the Porsche transporter, but I do not recall ever seeing a 944 GTR with such a big rear wing and endplates either.
Thanks for sharing :-)

My first post!
The first pic. is my father posing in front of Dover Castle in August 1955?
He met my mother some 12 years previously when they were both stationed here as R.N. radio ops.
(Note the rather surprised couple over his shoulder)
The second pic. is the reverse and is what that pair were looking at.
Both pictures were taken on my then new Kodak Brownie 127.

Team Elite and Team Elite 62 Ltd. had a nice little Bedford transporter for their Lotus Elites.
Has anyone got pictures or know if they are shown in books , and have anyone info on the copyright holders ?

For those of us who like transporters, and who also hold the memory of Jenks in high regard, Hedingham Models have produced a fully liveried Austin K8 as a model of that used by DSJ and Eric Oliver. I understand that the accuracy of the livery is very high, as they had the benefit of archive material from the "right" sources.
In 1/43 size at £12.99 it is a bargain. No pictures on the website but their ad is on page 132 of this month's Motor Sport

While perusing my new copy of "Maserati Tipo 151 - The Last Monster From Modena" by Michelle Bollee and Willem Oosthoek, I ran across a picture on page 50 of Roger Penske's transporter at Laguna Seca in 1962. The rig consists of a two-axle two-level open trailer carrying the Zerex-Duralite Special and the 1961 Cooper-Monaco, with the tow vehicle being a station wagon (maybe a Ford). However, the piece de resistance is the moose head mounted on the front of the station wagon! Other transporters are also visible in the shot.

I remember attending as a trade stand at a Truck Show event at Silverstone in the mid 1990s (it was a dismal failure so not repeated and the fees were really heavy) and seeing an interesting Yahama signed transporter. It was a four axle rigid van, make I cannot remember - the second axle appeared added - quite unusual given the type of transporter then used. Anybody remember it?

The Competition Cars of Australia van in no 4 suggest it is an Ausper, possibly Steve Ouvarov in a T3 as it has outboard suspension, but I have not checked. ISTR John Rhodes in a T4 later.

Rick , MRP started in 1960 with a bustransporter. The Cooper "colours does not fit MRP but Cooper. Tyrrell was doing the F3 thing for Cooper and in 1 race they had no. 70 :
1961 Brands Hatch (Guards Meeting) John Davy Trophy, Tony Maggs, Cooper BMC.

That would make N° 8 = Gavin Youl / AUS (MRD). The Lotus 20 could be Peter Ashdown's car (race number 28). Courtesy Stefan Örnerdal's webpage.

I doubt it as there is nowhere at Goodwood with such hills and trees around the circuit. It looks more like a Merlyn mk3 to me, which might indicate Boxing Day Brands '61, and the name on the body looks like the end of Puddle Jumper, the Ian Raby car, where Raby showed the car's potential. But the car race no is wrong.
Try Brands, John Davey trophy, 23.4.62, no 45, Raby , mk3 Merlyn DNF
The Ausper T3 was more rounded over the front section. I will check photos here. The T4 was introduced for '62
The panel van in Comp Cars of Australia livery looks like a Commer forward control van.

That looks right as the lower radius rod is very low mounted and more forward located on the Auspers, both T3 and T3. Moreover, the T4, introduced in '62, had inboard suspension at both ends, later modified, with the lay-over engine, much more so than the Lotus 22. Plus the T4 had faired in mirrors.
