Hi Racing Fans,

Just wanted to say hi (been registered for a while but forgot my details, doh!), been an avid reader for a few years now and decided to contribute but seems things are a tad quiet during the off-season.

I've just hit 30 (with 2 kids) and work in I.T (boring yes I know) however once I leave the Office i'm a massive fan of everything F1 especially Lewis and McLaren (first and foremost a Team fan) - like everyone else am properly looking forward to the new season and have my fingers crossed that McLaren give Lewis a car worthy of his talents.

All the Best,

R.S
TurboKeb
Greetings from Quebec, I am TurboKeb. I follow the F1 since early 2000's, when I watched almost every Canadian GP until 2007; then I started to follow all of the season more closely. I have read this board for a time now, and I would like to contribute to it now smile.gif
I am RB/Vettel fan, seen his first race in the BMW after the Kubica crash, I like the PR attitude of the guy, and his obvious qualy skills too.

So, see you somewhere around!! wave.gif

Hello from Canada!

Started following F1 in the late 90's, watched nearly every single moment since 2001. I've lurked around here for about three years, so I figured it was time to let my voice be heard. smile.gif

Hi to all you regular posters.

After reading everyone elses comments for years and years I thought it was about time I joined in and not just laugh at some of the saft replies to myself!

I have followed F1 and motor racing in general since about 1992 and regularly go to Silverstone for the 3 day extravaganza that is the British GP - what an amazing event last year, Eddie Jordan ranting at the campsite was a highlight, along with cheering the brits from Stowe!

Anyway hope I dont make a fool of myself and looking forward to posting a few comments here and there...

Hi everyone,

Been lurking the forums from Canada this past year, decided i'de like to post once in a while this season.

In 2001 I attended the race in Canada and ever since that weekend, I've been hooked. I also got the chance to meet Alonso that year; so he's been driver #1 circa my first day as a fan.
I've been to 9 races in Montreal and haven't missed many on the TV.
The technology and cars are amazing, so much excitement, and the sound is just inexplicable. Cant wait for the lights to go off on the new season.

Hi everyone,

I've been following F1 for twenty years and this forum for a few years and thought it was about time I registered. I not a fan of any particular team or driver, I just love a good race. Having said that it would be good to see Team Lotus do well as I live in Norfolk.

Afternoon
Have followed F1 since 1972 (British GP at Brands). Shouted for Tyrrell until Jody Scheckter went to Ferrari. Been a Ferrari fan ever since - about 30 years!!
Was an Autosport reader for many years from about '80 but swapped it for the Spectator and Private Eye!
Looking forward to discussions and a spot of banter.

Been following F1 since 1998 and been a Ferrari and Schumacher fan since. I've been an autosport reader for a good few years and though it was a good idea to finally register and share my views and enjoy the discussions. Looking forward to another exhilarating F1 season. Forza Ferrari

p.s. is it me or has time been passing especially slowly since the last test?wink.gif

wave.gif Been following F1 from about 1994 and love it clap.gif . My favored driver is Jenson, but when Lewis came along he caught my eye also. I am not a die hard supporter of any particular team but I suppose I still have a quiet liking for Williams, from my Damon days. Looking forward to the new season and hope that we have a good one up.gif
Cult
I've been watching and remembering F1 since 1992/1993 when I was 4 or 5 years old. I first supported Hill in the early days, disliking Schumacher and then all of a sudden something random happened. I started admiring and then supporting Schumacher in 1996-1997 after he pulled that dog of a Ferrari to several wins taking points from Villeneuve smile.gif Hill had to beat Villeneuve at any cost evil.gif

I've been an admirer and supporter of Schumacher ever since although I've not always agreed with what he's done, especially Monaco 2006 which I can never quite justify. Now I have a lot of favourites and generally just want to see great and exciting races. I've seen multiple tracks across Europe but I've never watched a race live in person, which is the next thing on my F1 to do list.

I love F1 (as you might have guessed) and I look forward to joining in the discussion from this point onwards.

HI guys and girls

I have been watching F1 since 1998 and was thrown in the Ferrari/schu bandwagon

Had no previous knowledge of anything regarding f1, I only knew Ferrari.

Now, I have no clear favourite driver, but I support anyone who drives for ferrari.

Hated rivals, McLaren and anyone who drives for them! wink.gif
DRAGONZO
wave.gif Hello there,,, I´m here to learn and interact with this wide variety of motorsports enthusiast. This is certainly my first experience in forums.
F1 is for sure an issue of my interest and sharing some open questions and nothing more than my humble opinion from time to time is the main aim for signing in here. I know F1 since eraly 70´s having this image of J Stewart´s Tyrrell No.3 poster in my bed room. It was only possible for me to watch races on Tv until late 70´s . Jackie,Nikki,Gilles,Alain,Ayrton,Mika,Michael and Fernando have been my picks when I support my favorite driver. I know there are some other great guys just not lucky enough to be driving 1 of the 4 front runners, and since I don´t think this is a democratic sport I can cope with the fact that life is not always fair enough here.
I like different teams but I´m biased towards suporting a specific driver or a given designer more than a team and by that I also mean been a fan myself of Adrian Newey´s work since early 90´s with Leyton House March.
I think the official and comercial management is great but has lost ground in this Megacorporate world. I´m a bit suspicious and not really sure when they use the fans as a pretext to say that racing needs tons of confusing quick changes, and twisted kind of improvements to get more overtaking and stuff by making racing more and more artificial, they are not even watching safety unsolved issues like flying objects and the heads that can be struck by such dangerous kind of things. Watching this side of F1 is as frustrating and boring as a dull race itself.
A real fan understands racing and competition and sometimes the lack of "HUGE" Headlines as well. I understand that it might look boring for some people as boring is to me a 2 hour average SOCCER game and still no one seems to be trying to fix anything about the most popular and beloved spectacle in the world and by that I mean Futbol Soccer of course.
I´m not going to dig any further since there is plenty of room for further discussion about this and other subjects.
Heil the true racers most of them whom fans we are roflmao.gif

MrE
Hello all!
I'm Mr E from Sweden and I started following F1 back in the early 90's. Loved seeing Williams on top and they are my favorite team to this day. I'm more of a team supporter than a driver supporter. If I had to choose a driver it would be Button. I have met him and he is truly a nice guy.

Hi everyone. As my username suggests I am called Josh.
Followed F1 seriously since 98 (stepdad got me into M. Schumacher), despite being English, and have been a keen supporter of Seb Vettel since he burst onto the scene in Fuji 2007, obviously chuffed to bits with how its going right now but also respect good performances, and follow other series which are on TV although none as keen as F1.
dutchie
Good afternoon everyone, as you can probably tell from my username I am a Dutch F1 fan. I've been watching the sport for about a decade now (I'm only 18), some seasons more closely than others but I've really gotten into the sport from the 2007 season onwards. I don't have a particular favorite driver or team, so last season's climax was absolutely brilliant in my opinion. Having said that I feel a bit sorry for Williams who should be higher up the field.

Also, I hope Vettel doesn't run away with it so here's hoping McLaren and Ferrari (Renault, Mercedes?) step it up a bit.

Hello everybody- I became a F1 fan after my father took me to my first race at Trois Rivieres in Canada, where I saw Gilles Villeneuve beat some of the stars of F1 in a formula atlantic race. We had some pit passes, and I'll never forget the sight of James Hunt with the front of his racing boots cut out. I then asked my father ...why is he doing that, and looking down at me, my father said ooh that's just James....being James.

Love the sport, and I hope that I will be able and contibute to this great forum.

Hello everyone,

Been lurking and viewing posts in this forum for some 10 years and finally joined in early 2011.
I was a Senna fan as long ago as 1987, became a Schumacher fan in 1993, and now as of 2006 - (being Australian), a Mark Webber/Daniel Ricciardo fan.
I love the classic tracks like Monaco, Spa, Silverstone, Brazil etc. I look forward to contributing now and then....
Cheers!

Hi all! wave.gif

Been following F1 since 2002, only religiously since 2007 (Mark Webber's podium at that chaotic Nurburgring race, funnily enough). Passionate Aussie.

ENORMOUS FAN of Mark Webber with Vitaly Petrov as my second favourite.

After being rather badly burned last year (Vettel WAS my second favourite until he turned right on lap 40 of the Turkish Grand Prix...) all second favourites must go through a much more rigorous test, so I'm reserving judgement on Riccardo for now.

I've been aware of motorsport since before I can remember; probably it was the first sport I was actually aware of. One of my first memories is of mum taking me and my younger sister out to wave Dad off at the start of a rally.

Since 2007 I have navigated for my father in dirt rallies and this year for the first time we are taking on the ACT Gold Cup. (We will probably come sixth and last, but why not have fun trying?) Our current rally car is an Evo 3. So far, we have not yet damaged it, despite several tankslappers, a couple of nose-ins, and several large gutters and rocks. Ran pacenotes for the first time two weeks ago (our rallies are usually all blind so I've developed on roadbooks) and loved it. Glad I wasn't writing them though!

Other stuff:

I am somewhat of a spelling and grammar fanatic.

I am also a figure skater. So if I'm not on here, not at uni or at work, I am probably at the rink practicing. wave.gif

Hi everybody!
I've been following F1 since 2003 been watching motorsports since I can remember; loved 500cc World Championships, WRC, Paris-Dakar, I enjoy motoGP, but is in relation to F1 that I'm truly a fan. I follow Fernando Alonso, and I love when he beats Lewis Hamilton, as I rate him very high as a really strong contender!
Ive been reading this forum for a long time.
Saludos! Cheers!

Hi I've been a lurker here and known the Autosport magazine since way back (before the internet showed up).

Hello all. I'm a new member. I've been following F1 since 2002 when I saw a giant poster of JPM in the cafeteria of my dad's company and said, "Hmm who's this dude?" I fell in love with F1 after seeing this:

I'm from Texas and am eagerly awaiting F1 to come to my home state!

Hi Guys and.. Gals.... (sure there some around)

I have been visiting this forum for a number of years now and just joined.

Im a huge F1 fan and support a driver/s rather than a team ... I know does not make sense to some but thats me.

Favorite drivers currently ..... Alonso, Vettel and if Hulkenburg can only get decent seat we in for a treat!

Favorite F1 years..... 1995 and 1996 ... why its the years Alonso beat Schumi ;-)

Hello all, another new member here. I've just taken the plunge and joined up although I have been a lurker on this BB for a couple of years.

I remember Grands Prix always being on the TV on Sunday afternoons when I was a child but I started taking notice and following what was going on from about 1984. In the early 90s I started to read more about the sport rather than just watching the TV broadcasts. That's probably when I became more than a casual fan.

My favourite drivers over the time I have been following F1: Mansell, Berger, Herbert, Hill, Alesi, Barrichello, Schumacher, Button, Webber, Massa, Hamilton.....there are probably others. JB is probably my favourite current driver. I'm more of a driver supporter than a team supporter.

I'm not sure when I might be brave enough to weigh into some of the heated debates that go on here! I tend to be quite moderate in my views smile.gif

I am new to the forum so thought I would say hi. I am Mark from Surrey, I have been reading this forum for ages, but only just got around to signing up. I have been a fan of F1 for as long as I can remember - my older brother used to watch on Saturday afternoons and I always liked to watch with him.

I've been to Silverstone a few times, but am planning to get to some others next year - i really want to get to Monza as the atmosphere seems incredible.
loki0420
Finally logged in to ease my forum survey and decided to say Hello to everyone! Same old stuff with me - been reading since 2008 etc.

I've been following F1 since 1996, become McLaren fan year later and from then on my love for the team grows every year despite everything they did wrong and whoever drives for them. I even rooted for Alonso in the beginning of 2007.

Hi, I am not much of an experienced man in F1. But I do watch it regularly and I am very much interested in the engineering and Physics section of it. I am actually a doctor . But I have always been interested in Physics and motorsports. Though not professional, I have been to a few rallies myself. :-)

Glad to be a part of this forum.

Hi All! I have been trolling through the posts for a while and finally decided to join in the fun, information and interests of the boards.

I have watched motor racing from young age and got addicted straight away. My first few races I saw and can vaguely remember was back in 85, watching 'Baffurst' and the Adelaide Gp that year. My old man would watch them sometimes and I always had to pester him to keep it on instead of the football. Thanks to that I got caught hook line and sinker! I started watching every GP from 1994 but was watching other forms of racing beforehand when they where on during the day! Young Australian, so late night race watching was a minimum.

Love F1 mainly, but next would be rally, Le-Mans and other sports cars thereafter. As an Australian I will admit i don't follow the V8 stupid cars (sorry pun intended) mostly due to the lack of other makes in the championship, but I will leave that rant in another post soon. I love the technical side and historical side of racing and as for my favorite team and driver at the moment I will leave that out, but regard Jim Clark as one of the best there was!

I know my name is odd, but it comes from playing GPL and this came about after my first few sessions with it, that which I did many a time! I also game a lot and I would have to say that GPL is the best game ever, though my partner thinks not at times!!!

Cheers

Hi,

I've been reading this forum for quite a long time, but had little time to engage in discussion. Finally, I decided to register. Some of you may know me from PF1 forum.

I watch F1 on race to race basis since about 2005. Before that I was more into rallying and watched racing only from time to time. While I was alive during the turbo era, unfortunately the first race I remember seeing (in TV) was somewhere in the 90s. But I made tons of research (and watching) about the history of F1. And I'm a bit of a technical freak ;)
Currently I also follow various kinds of motorsport, especially MotoGP and WRC, but also endurance and touring car racing. I try to watch lower formula racing whenever I have time and opportunity.

I've seen (and heard) F1 in person, but unfortunately not nearly enough!

Regards,
Dr.

Hello everyone. Obviously new to this forum but have been following autosport.com seemingly forever. At least 10 years. Never occurred to to join until just recently. Looking for good F1 discussions in particular and motorsports in general. Have been following F1 since the early 70's. INDYCAR, NASCAR and NHRA drag racing since the mid to late 60's. Yup, it's been a few miles. Looking forward to conversing with you soon!

Hi,

I have been on this site on and off for some time now. Have been following F1 since around 1993, and have in the past always supported a team, rather than a driver. started off as a huge Williams fan, but liked Alonso when he started driving for Minardi........................ now I am also a driver fan, rather than a team fan. Never saw myself supporting Ferrari, but it just goes to show. smile.gif

Hi All,

Been watching F1 since the late 80's and just love the sport…. The power and glory as they say!!! I do love a bit of controversy as well!!

Favorite drivers include Prost, Senna, MS, Mika, DC, Kimi, Webber and Vettel… Always followed McLaren, up until DC went to Red Bull and have followed RBR every since…. Veteran of far too many British GP to remember and waiting for my first GP overseas….

Hi everyone!

Been reading this forum for quite a while but only couple days ago i decided to join you. Been watching Formula1 since 1994, was and will forever be a McLaren fan. Greetings from sunny Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegowina).wink.gif

I have been following F1 since the early 1960's. Dad took me to Indy for the 500 qualification weekend and it was great. Then the rear engine Lotus cars showed up and I became hooked on learning about F1. The cars could turn right as well as left.

An old American TV show called "Wide Wide World of Sports" would sometimes show an F1 race. Jim Clark was awesome.

A long career in the military sent me to places where it is hard to follow the sport. I moved to Europe a couple of decades ago and got hooked again with drivers such as Senna, Prost and Mansell. Lucky to watch the rise of Schumi from the early days.

There are a couple of prominent drivers that I disdain because of their lack of integrity. I will try to hold myself back from being prejudiced about them in my comments.

Cheers!

Hello!

I'm a 26 yrs old brazilian F1 fan since always, due to my father. I have no preference for a team nor a driver in current F1, but my all-time-favourite is Senna. In fact, I didnt pay to much attention do F1 during Schumacher's reign, but probably now we won't see a 5-stars dominant driver alone (in fact, I believe we won't even have 5 stars drivers anymore but meh, thats another discussion).
bub
Just to get my post count up. Hello F1 fans. Been a casual fan for years but over the last year I've become a bit obsessed with F1.
Bit of a McLaren fan being British.
