Fernando Alonso: "Luckily I joined Celta '

EDITORIAL - VIGO - 15/02/2011
The now two-time World Formula 1 Fernando Alonso was not always clear that his future was in the car. When I was a kid, combining this passion with soccer. He played in goal and should not do evil because almost Celtic sign him.

Alonso himself explained in an interview yesterday in the 'daily AS' because I finally came to the club not blue, while admitting that there was a formal offer. 'It made it to my father,' he says, adding that "thankfully declined. I had my sister and not to move from Oviedo and otherwise rejected. "
Fernando Alonso says in this interview that was very clear he was going to be a sportsman and ensures that could have been involved in professional cycling, while acknowledging that it would not be a single herd.
The passion for soccer Fernando Alonso is public. Is declared follower of Real Madrid and Oviedo, but it may also save a bit of sympathy for the Celtic club that he wanted to sign him as a child and could have completely changed their destiny.
The Ferrari driver will start next month a new season in Formula 1 with the intention to be crowned world champion, something that could never aspire to be goalkeeper.

I think Alonso and Ferrari are going to be extremely quick this season. Not sure why, maybe just a hunch. All the reports say that the Ferrari is very quick, but most importantly, is relatively easy on its tyres.

The irony here is Kimi helped Ferrari to develop KERS, specially it's more critical issue: the brakes, that recovers energy to KERS.

When Massa crashed in Hungary, both his replacements Fisi and Badoer had problems with brakes, bcs it behaved so differently and were hard to modulate.

Now Alonso is the one that will seize from his hard work... sad but true. cry.gif

Where is the benefit if the KR-developed KERS was so undriveable that only Kimi himself could handle it? drunk.gif

I feel pity for those who get a jumpstart on potential Ferrari domination this season by playing the "nationality card." I think you have reason to fear, but not because Pirelli conspires with Ferrari to return the WCC and WDC to Italy. Instead, you should tremble from the confidence with which both Massa and Alonso speak of the F150th Italia!

Shifting focus to the upcoming season, Alonso insists he is happy with the progress the team is making.

"We are in a good position, we know we still need to improve as the competition in fierce, but we are at a good stage," he explained.

"All the tests with the F150 have gone well, we are very optimistic ahead of the season opener in Australia.
"From what we have seen so far, we are in a good position. But we still need to grow because the other teams will be competitive. We keep the faith, all is proceeding well," he added.

Fernando Alonso the "cook"
Finally we ... Thursday has come and gone as has also passed the program of the famous Iberian chef Karlos Arguin which Fernando Alonso has been a guest on video.
At the beginning of the transmission was shown a video where they were placed at the " chef Nando 'a bit of questions about his tastes or preferences in the kitchen of course all in Spanish!
Fernando has made a request to the chef Karlos: to cook a FABAVA ASTURIANA a dish typical of her region with beans and meat. I am committed to write in Italian for you and the brief interview here below you will find the translation of this and the video followed by a recipe request from Fernando. Do not ask what kind of questions the fact they do not understand why some need it myself ( such as when asked to choose between a spoon and fork ).

What's the best dish that makes your mother?
Lentils

Spoon or fork?
Spoon

Meat or fish?
Meat

Pan or casserole?
Casserole

What is your favorite food?
I have no one in particular, if I say I choose the pasta

What is the most special dish you've ever eaten?
I think I have ever eaten something special, I like and I like to eat things simple and never tends to try something new

What you do best dish?
Paella

What was your worst experience in the kitchen?
Certainly the desserts. When I try to make a sweet, almost always the mixture is more liquid than necessary, takes the form it should ... Disaster! Yes, the thing that just can not do the sweet

Cook for someone?
For my wife and me

Who cooking really good?
My mother

How many hours do you spend cooking?
Definitely spend more time cleaning the kitchen to dedicate the kitchen because it gets dirty very easily! For most of the time I live alone, I only cook for me and I really only cook for dinner and then more or less than 1 hour ... definitely not more.

What you eat before a race?
Normally before a GP I eat pasta for lunch and dinner, salad, meat or fish, but something very simple. We are not allowed to experience anything new before a race.

What is your favorite dish when "live" in the loop?
Any kind of pasta! Ferrari in an Italian cook and we always spaghetti, macaroni, noodles with tuna Bolognese ... any type of pasta!

From 1 to 10 score that you give yourself as a cook?
Very bad .... 2! [Laughs]

From 1 to 10 points that you as the diner?
I would say the same ... are a bad diner: I eat little and I like the usual two or three things that I eat almost always.

With what do you eat breakfast?
With cereals, yogurt and sometimes biscuits

What is the essential ingredient in your kitchen?
Pasta [laughs]

What would you cook Arguin?
I wish I would cook a "Fabada," not because I particularly like it, but because I hope that all of Spain can learn to cook fabada Asturian and I can try this dish, typical of my region.

Nonsense apart from Badoer and Fisi unable to get to grips with the F60.As much as I liked Kimi,he had nothing to do with developing Kers which has nothing to do with the Carbon brakes and everything to do with recovering the lost energy of ENGINE BRAKING.Do you know what engine braking is and how Kers really works??

Alonso also had experience with Kers at Renault and like Kimi and all the others,he had nothing to do with it's developement which is a way too specialised field for a driver.

Alonso: " Hopefully we could know where we are"

The Spanish pilot of Ferrari Fernando Alonso has assured that he does not have " anxiety" to arrive at the first race from World-wide from Formula 1.

"Tests does not say anything to me, we do not know where it is each team, because this season influences many factors. Hopefully we could know where we are" , there is this Alonso.

Alonso has reiterated that Michael Schumacher is the pilot to whom " more respect" it has. " If Mercedes is competitive, Schumacher can be there".

Between escuderías it indicates " Renault and to Toro Rosso" like that " there are progress" more;. Note: Renault and Toro Rosso the teams that did more progress.

It has had a memory for its friend Robert Kubica, to whom it found " ok" in its visit, " boring because it must be many hours in the bed, but with desire to return".

Also km/h has valued the decision of the Government to limit 110 the terminal velocity: " I do not agree, are other more efficient ways to save fuel".

I think is easy to understand, don't need a better translation.

Well I don't agree with him at all.

First, when going 110 instead of 120 you do save fuel. Around those speeds it's when the fuel consumption starts go really go up. Although a more extreme variation, when I switched from going to work at 130/140 kph to the 100 kph I'm going now, I really noticed it.
Second, let's face it, Spaniards are not very disciplined drivers. If they (we) are not responsible enough, either be, or not start crying if there are harder restrictions, because it's our own making.

Also, I don't think he should be doing declarations like that because it's just fuel for those idiots here that think that the streets are a race circuit.

Yes, I know this opinion will not be popular. And no, not me nor my family have had, touch wood, an accident involving speeding drivers.

Yes, I know this opinion will not be popular. And no, not me nor my family have had, touch wood, an accident involving speeding drivers.

I disagree with that view - the difference between 110 and 120 in terms of fuel consumption is very small, because most engines can adapt by switching gears at around those speeds. At 140 the consumption really escalates, which is why you noticed it when you reduced your speed. Some automatic cars have indicators that light up when fuel consumption goes above certain levels, and they do so a bit over 140.

The restrictions we are facing have nothing to do with the making of drivers: people started to be much more careful with consumption some time ago, particularly since the crisis started. It is the potential shortage of supply that is leading to these type of measures, and the financial distress the country is in - and of the latter, the government has to be apportioned most of the blame.

I agree that idiots who think streets are race circuits may like Alonso's comments, but those won't have any impact in their behaviour. There is a major difference between thinking that it is safe to drive at 130 in a highway, and the behaviour those people exhibit.

And yes, your opinion is likely not to be popular, but it is very respectable. smile.gif

I wanted to slate him for this, but its another case of Autosports awful headlines.

Sure he says the change will hurt the top teams due to the uncertainty but he also recognizes its the same for everyone. IMO it doesnt hurt the top teams, it just gives the smaller teams a chance to grab a strange result.
