Michael Schumacher interview with Bild.

QUOTE
BILD: Tomorrow, Tuesday the racing Formula 1 at the first test in Valencia release. You are 20 years of cockpit intended to hardly excited?
Michael Schumacher (42): "Quite the contrary. It tingles everywhere, hands, feet, head. The unrest is getting worse. I feel like a child before the Christmas presents. "

Your gift is your new Mercedes. If you already driven a few yards with it?
Schumacher: "No, but I have a good feeling. Today we need no longer sit in the car to get a first impression. There is enough data. "

BILD: What do you say the data?
Schumacher: "The guys in Brackley (Mercedes-GP factory in England, the editor) have done a great job, I am very satisfied. We had started quite early, to build the new car. Everything auto-2010s was to improve on, we also have improved significantly. "

IMAGE: Sounds as if you had even cooperated.
Schumacher: "I was always the engineers in contact with. You need the so imagine: In the winter I can not exercise much outside Sun Therefore I have inside a wheel on a roll. As I sit and sweat and think. How can we achieve this and that? Where do we stand in the schedule? What can I do, the engineers still a bit nervous to make it better? The cell phone I have at hand, the button in the ear. And when I call, knowing that in England, Schumacher again trained and broods over the car. "

PICTURE: Vice-World champion Fernando Alonso has it as the main rival. Pure flattery?
Schumacher: "Fernando can count on five fingers, want things to go better and better. He knows what our trajectory is run, which ended at the end so clearly up. He knows that we have much for the new car has taken us time. It is realistic to him, with the bill to take on Mercedes. "

BILD: Is the eighth title in it for you?
Schumacher: "A title candidate? So much for my opinion we are not yet. The situation is this: We at Mercedes know at this time pretty much where we stand. However, we do not know where the others stand. "

BILD: Do you find it with 42 years of hard to stay fit?
Schumacher: "Not at all. Last year I had three years of leisure time to the restart. This winter I've just trained on. I'm fully fit. "

PICTURE: Fit enough to be a 23-year-old world champion, your friend Sebastian Vettel to hunt?
Schumacher: "It's not just about a 23-year-olds. There are a few more young people there. But when I look at the so, I had last year, purely physically absolutely not hide for ever in world-class ride to the still can. "

IMAGE: 20 races in front of you, many days traveling. How does your wife Corinna from the?
Schumacher: "There are no more test drives. What I now time for Formula 1 Payments, is far less than in the past. Corinna knows to appreciate. "

PICTURE: It must be hard though.
Schumacher: "Corinna and the sport grew up with me. Before we decided that I dare the comeback last year, we have determined exactly which periods they are. And so we can plan the family lives now so that no one stand back in the family structure must be. Since I am also happy about it. Only under this premise, the whole comeback for me have been possible. I'm with Ross Brawn and Norbert Haug agreed that I would restrict the PR. Family life has priority for me. The family is of vital importance to me. "

BILD: Is there in your home, a vehicle with less than 100 horsepower?
Schumacher: "Sure. I have a nice old tractor, built something in the sixties. "

BILD: How do you motivate your team?
Schumacher: "In consequence of my own performance. If my boys watch that I give 100 percent, then hit the course and fully clean. My environment is so polarized: If it's not Schumacher fails to be, it also does not fail us. But it also needs times of personal conversations or gestures. "

BILD: What gestures?
Schumacher: "The whole thing may be small. A pat on the back or just a smile. I know all of my mechanics. I'm not good at remember names and needed a little bit because it was indeed a new team yet. But over time you build friendships. Then you also know at some point the names of their respective girlfriend or wife and asks how it is going on. Sorry, we do it too often, to drink a beer together.

BILD: Is it true that Mercedes champion Vettel dredged from?
Schumacher: "It's no secret that Sebastian again with us forever. We celebrate together, eat together for dinner. Since there is a long friendship between him, me, us, Norbert. From a purely hypothetical, it would be quite unreasonable, if Mercedes would not try to figure out whether the Sebastian we will continue in future. Because my future is still relatively predictable. Mind you, I'm talking theoretically, I'm not saying it is. "

PHOTO: Vettel is a positively crazy as you. He wants to go flying all that, can move.
Schumacher: "We were together even skydiving."

Indeed. I've never been a fan of SSM's continual disparaging remarks which are so cliched. How he can believe that MS couldn't be the best during his era of success is beyond me. Senna's death marked the changing of the guard as did Alonso's 2 WDCs, between them only Hakkinen stood as Michael's rival and Michael had a certain ability to drive the team which Mika probably lacked.

However there are people here who continue to "believe" in MS way beyond the call of duty. Fact is MS WAS a great F1 driver, one of the best. On the evidence of last season Nico is a better one at present, and by quite a margin. Times change and you always have to be prepared to change with them. Maybe in 2011 MS can recapture some of his earlier form and I will update my opinion. Notice I said "recapture" as I believe last year's dismal effort fell well short of what he once could have done, in any car.

I don't think that's putting the boot into the guy, just a reasonable assessment. Let's hope he can find that form as it would be good for the sport if he behaves on-track. Perhaps that's asking a lot....

I'm feeling the same way about this year too ... Schumacher sounds pretty OPTIMISTIC early on this year which was the opposite last February of 09 .... I'll take his word , after all he's the 7 time world champion is'nt he ?

The car looks freakin sweet compared to last year's dissapointment and Mercedes GP had been develloping the W02 since mid 2010 ...

He says the rustiness is no longer there and that he felt at home right away driving the new car ....

This car will be for real in 2011 - up.gif

Schumacher will win again this year , I got no doubt about that ... he's going to get a shit-load of podiums from the get-go and will be challenging for the Title like he promised .... up.gif

watch out F1 - here he comes back again ... rising like a phoenix from Arizona -))

Maybe In Bahrain we will see this 42 year old phenom living-legend do his famous jump from the top of the podium ....

Go Michael Go ! up.gif
ch103
Im all but certain, based on his lap time consistency in testing, that given a competitive car he will win. No doubts about it whatsoever.

Nico had better recognize Mercedes is going to need him to collect points off the other front runners so just get used to being the 2nd driver.

Good. Fasten your seat belts Frans, you will have a feast this season.
Frans
You can say what you want about Schumacher. But I have found some love for Mercedes last season. They are a team what try to keep the sport honnest. They will not give Schumacher the kind of threadment he received at Benetton/Ferrari, at least they did not in they're 1st season back in F1. Which will probably be the most memorable seasons for the team for a long time to come. It will be named the season where the "Monster-Legend-7-Time-WDC" came, but it was no Veni, Vedi, Vici at all, now wasn't? lol.gif

People have forgotten, that Michael has collected a whole bunch of wins in F1 in his carreer what are hollow, and meaningless to the FANS of the SPORT.

He raped the regulations and spitted on the rules. Drove against several WDC deciding Williams cars against they're sidepods, and his famous "Chop-Swerve" move has been named the "Schumacher-Chop" ever since. Yes the man made F1 fun to watch to some degree, but mostly he made the results unbearable most of the time.

2010 was an eye opener. It amazed me more than I could imagine. Mercedes GP = up.gifup.gifup.gif

So, .. was Schumacher ALWAYS overrated maybe? Of course, but a 2nd season will tell us more about that and will open more people's eyes....
So, .. he will not win another race in his carreer, let stand alone another title? WHahahahaaaaaa roflmao.gif roflmao.gif Bring it on!!!! A podium will feel like a title for him !!!

2010 was for Schumacher more or less a Veni, Vedi, Ooopsie and I really really hope and pray that 2011 will be an extention of that. It will be bad for my health and it could cost me a lot of bans at bars in 2011, but it's worth it.

And, the moral of this story is? ... Well, ... Silver is for 2nd place, no? ... And Michael always had 7 stars on his helmet ever since he began.... now, conspiritual or not, WHY do you think that is? WHY not 8 stars on his helmet. He was brought by, supported by and made by no one less that Bernie and his hencemen. A German WDC was what he needed, and that's what F1 got. A couple of times! He made the man a "Veni, Vedi, Vici" German Sieger of Autosports. (Bernie later said he needed a black driver and there was Lewis.... Bernie also spoke of a woman in F1... it's a matter of time...) But Michael did his part. Which means he is only field-filling now, to let other driver look better, because a lot of people still believe and hope in the Mythological Michael Schumacher. The man who could so called win in a Minardi, or so they told us always...... lol.gif

Regenmeister ..... (ooh, where's you illegal traction control now eh Michael? No more unfair advantages? Oh yes, you deserved them ... no you didn't.)

And no fear, Germany's NEW here is here! It's Vettel now, isn't? Poor old-Michael. Is he really only back in F1 to amuse me? smoking.gif

I feared the beginning of 2010, I really did. But now, ... 2011 looks really good already. I LOOOVe to see him struggle with movable wings, KERS buttons and new Pirelli's in the field.
And I am also wondering what kind of sercret wonder-device Brawn has been able to coop-up for the Silver Arrows.... but as soon as I found it, I will tell it here 1st, no worries.

So, .. he will not win another race in his carreer, let stand alone another title?
