Flawed genius?

I like how the British press like to portray MS as something less than a genius out and out....

Can't believe what Autosport journalists wrote for their magazine again.

Didn't quite show Rosberg's pace???

Yeah sure the pace wasn't comparable, because Michael was 1.5 seconds faster idiots!
i disagree about the pace field but all the other about schumi is pretty spot on

I am not sure if Ferrari was a superior car to JV' Williams. Tactical planning however helped.

Grid 1;
Jacques Villeneuve
Williams FW19/Renault
1'36.071

Grid 2;
Michael Schumacher
Ferrari F310B
1'36.133

I'm quietly confident Benz won't be 0.06 seconds behind Red Bull.

There was a kart event held in Kerpen last weekend. Michael was there: Memorial kart event in Kerpen

That was vintage 1997 Schumacher. He is no where near that level.

If hat that Schumacher in the 2011 Mercedes, he would be top 3 in the championship. He was that good.

While yes he was driving a "average car" compared to Williams...

Brawn states he is, but anyway without the right car that's just conjecture.

MS can not transcend physics - if the Benz is some 1.5 seconds slower around Suzuka which is on the cards, 1997 or today, MS will not top 3 under normal circumstance and as with Spa 4th or 5th would be the target and would be a great result.

Yes you are correct about that; the 1997 Williams was an extremely quick car, but Ferrari closed the gap at the end, and Schumacher showed his skills very clearly that season.

I am going to actually disagree with Ross on the 2011 vs Mid to late 1990s Schumacher. He did quite impressive in rather "average" Ferraris. The Red Bull would be like Williams of 1993 rather than 1997 because they are quite dominant; although, 1997 had potential to be very dominant due to how fast Jacques was at Albert Park. But I still think if Schu was in his prime, he could but the Benz somewhat closer to the front end of the grid than now.

Michael Schumacher, according to a recent survey, has been voted as "Germany's best athlete of all time"

QUOTE
Poll: Schumacher and Count largest German athletes

Berlin (dpa) Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher and tennis star Steffi Graf, according to a recent survey, "Germany's best athlete of all time". As "the most important football player" was chosen in the "Bild" newspaper (Thursday) commissioned representative survey "Kaiser" Franz Beckenbauer, with a maximum value of 53 percent.

Schumacher won 16 percent of the vote; second place in the general category are divided Beckenbauer and tennis star Boris Becker (both 11). Second behind Graf in the women (28) was Olympic figure skating champion Katarina Witt (12) before skier Rosi Mittermaier (7).

Every second German sees 'Bomber' Gerd Muller (51 percent) as the best striker. DFB honorary captain Uwe Seeler surprisingly found out just over 7 percent, the still active striker Miroslav Klose is third (6). Can claim a hollow victory Joachim Löw: Together with the world champion coach in 1954, Sepp Herberger (both 19 percent), he was - although still without a title with the DFB-Elf - chosen as the best football coach.

Biggest Keeper was the "Titan" - Oliver Kahn on 44 percent of the votes accounted for considerable. When the "sympathetic German football club" was record champions FC Bayern Munich (17 percent) emerged from the Forsa survey. As the only second division club FC St. Pauli managed with 6 percent - along with Schalke 04 - at least up to fourth place.

michael was on fumes and nico had enough fuel to finish the season and to the winter testing.michael also cheated and cut a few corners. taking that into account he's probably 1-1.5 sec slower than rosberg on pure pace and he needs to retire
there isn't any other explanation

Erm, other than them having different levels of fuel to begin with?
MikeTekRacing
as I said, michael was surely on fumes and nico had fuel to run his car until the end of the winter testing
which is the only thing that can happen as we all know nico is faster

I agree. I'm also pretty sure that Michael was using illegal traction control and has found a way to make his car faster by murdering puppies.

Deffo needs to retire and let someone else have a go wink.gif

Incorrect. Rosberg was fuelled to the next Japanese GP.

Should be a good qualifying for a change, if there's no issues either the car.

Where does this 5000 Euros go? Does it go into someones back pocket? To the circuit? FIA? Towards dividents for officials?

I've always wanted to know as these fines are massively high to the average layman.

As far as I recall, these fines are paid by the team, not the driver himself. And it should go directly to the FiA in order to be used for studies on road and drivers' safety.
