There's a thread for each, but not one for both.
It's early, yes, but so far, this seems to be the situation:
Ferrari/Alonso is quicker in race trim, especially on the harder compound.
Red Bull/Vettel is quicker in qualifying and on the softer compound.
Both have reliability issues.
Both have evenly matched team mates, with a slight advantage to one over the other, but no clear #1 driver (yet).
With the guaranteed lack of overtaking in prospect this year, I think it will be the team/driver which can get pole that wins the championship.
Then again, reliability may play a role and allow Mercedes or Mclaren to take the glory.
It's a long season and a lot could happen but I think Red Bull might edge it. What about you?

Hang on, few quick calculations............................So...... I make that Hamilton for the title then................
If his car is more reliable and if the team can find a way to make it quicker, then yes. But right now he's not in the fastest car.
The RBR had to carry less fuel than the Ferrari in the early stages of the Bahrain race which of course later equalized with the higher fuel consumption of the Ferrari. I doubt the advantage of the RBR had to do with the tyre compound.

Statiscally who win the first race win the WDC. There only few exceptions.

I saw a report that out of 60 F1 seasons 31 were won by the one who won the first race of the season
So it appears there is statistically about a 50 % chance for the winner of the first race of the season to win the Championship. Which means we are none the wiser about who is likely going to win...

A reminder of RC House Rules.

*Driver vs Driver threads: While threads which encourage debate such as pitching team mates against each other to compare performance or two drivers that have been involved in an incident are welcomed, threads which pitch two drivers against each other for no specific reason are not.
