Autosport and ITV-F1 work completely independently, Autosport and it's staff have absolutely nothing to do with it.
Really? How do you know this if you don't mind me asking.? Would seem weird for a place (Haymarket) to have a specialist motorsport publication (Autosport) which runs a specialist motorsport website to then set up a totally separate motorsports unit to look after ITV....
...or I could be demonstration my complete lack of knowledge in this particular sector.

A shame that Legard is back, the guy just plain doens't get excited enough and has no rapport with Martin Brundle at all.
I just watched the closing laps of the 08 Brazilian Grand Prix again, can you imagine if it was Legard commentating then?
Allen might have lived up Hamilton's arse but he was a far better commentator able to capture the moment and had a decent rapport with Brundle.

If there's more than one person working on writing content for the ITV-F1 website I'll be very shocked. It's merely an echo of whatever else is out there so wouldn't be too difficult to pen for.

Well the MCN article says:
"Speaking exclusively to MCN just a day after she told the BBC she would not renew her contract to cover the 2010 MotoGP season, Suzi said: “
It feels like a part of something has died. That might sounds a little dramatic but that’s how I feel."
A part of her life has died, she's done bikes for like, forever now.
I'd quite like to _see_ Charlie Webster replace her. Although when I'm watching bikes, it will be on Eurosport not BBC (can't stand that Australian guy :/).

ITV-F1 isn't a Haymarket title, but it is produced by Haymarket Network, the customer publishing division. They also do a lot of stuff for Manchester United, Wembley Stadium, Champions League, and the FA; despite having our own consumer football magazine 442. Naturally if you're a football or racing person it's easier to move amongst those titles than it is to go to Practical Caravan or Gramophone, but they are very seperate. Haymarket Network is probably the most stand-alone part of Haymarket in that regard, it's almost a company within a company

And, yeah, the BBC coverage is ****ing awful. They'd completely skip the podium ceremonies and just skip straight to James Toseland regardless of where he finished. Could have been 11th place or whatever. And, man, those two commentators... sound like they smoke 60 packs an HOUR.

BBC should take it upon themselves to choose the best possible commentators for F1.. Legard isn't that and it's disapointing to see he'll be commentating this year again.
Ben Edwards and Brundle, how would that work out? Edwards is a brilliant commentator, has the passion, the enthusiasm and knowledge. Probably the best available at the moment.

I wonder if the McLaren dads will be a permanent presence in the pre and post race coverage. John Button was all over the shows last year but I don't think I heard Anthony Hamilton's voice all year, a huge change from the last year of ITV. Perhaps he didn't enjoy 2009 very much or had made a conscious decision to step back, but maybe he will be wanting to keep up with Mr Button during 2010. Just as long as he doesn't start competing over who can wear their shirt the most open...

Yeah, the fact that they decided to break away from their normal website style and go for some silly black/grey layout really turns me off from visiting their F1 portal. It's awful stuff. Plus it seems to be more taxing on the browser than the rest of the regular BBC sites.
There's not much going on anyway. Little regarding anything technical and often much slower than other websites when it comes to F1 anyway. The gossip column is a decent aggregate. Overall I'd give the BBC F1 website a 5/10

You have to use Google to fnd anything over a week or so old, and even that is hit and miss.
It'll be interesting to see who replaces Ant, considering Maurice Hamilton has gone. Herbert would be pretty good if available. Whilst I quite like JYS in the practices occasionally, I don't think he would be much good in qualifying or races, he made a couple of odd (and not really correct) calls last year, such as saying that Webber would have been a threat in Monza if he hadn't DNF'd, in the Singapore practice he did.
