Lewis certainly does look as if he is having a great time at the Trofeo Bandini Award, he got a great reaction for his few words in Italian. Maybe this will convince him to go to Ferrari one day...I can but dream.

As to whether he would go to Ferrari, does anyone think he ever would? I don't know but would love to know what others think.

She said something along the lines of, 'she liked him and will follow what he does but because he is such a nice person please don't do tricks, everyone wants to win but it's nice to win in a nice way'.

She said it in a typical Mother in Law kind of way, quite sweet

I remember being at Zandvoort in 2004 or 2005 and telling a friend of mine he will be world champion within the next 10 years. Didn't realise just how good he was until 2007 though. A breathtaking first season alongside the the current double WDC.

I would love it if he joined Ferrari and I'm sure the Italians would take to him like they did to Gilles Mansell and Alesi. Lewis seems to be into Motor racing history more than the average F1 competitor so I certainly wouldn't bet against him joining the Scuderia at some stage.

That guy has McLaren´s DNA all over him so no, I don´t think so! Why would he? He´s Brit in a British McLaren with such a history and legacy. His favourite driver of all times drove for McLaren, as a kid he watched him and the McLarens on the TV, he´s well paid by McLaren and he has everything from them and their sponsors, partners, in other words, Mclaren gave him everything! And some of you really think that he will go to McLaren's nemesis, Ferrari? There is also a language barrier. For God's sake juct compare MTC with Ferrari factory in Maranello! It's not even funny!

I could not support Lewis @ Ferrari.

I would support him wherever he went. But if Ferrari are in their current incarnation in the future, i.e. all over the shop with Madlonso there, then I would find it a strange decision to make. McLaren are probably the best in terms of resources and development to enable him to get World Championships. That Whitmarsh just needs to tone it down a bit.

Judging by how unsatisfied you seem to be with Hamiltons treatment inside McLaren, my conclusion is that at any other team you'd be crying foul in 5 minute intervals.

You really think that he´ll drive alongside Alonso at Ferrari? You really think that Ferrari would cope with a dream team? Alonso said that he´ll finnish his career in Ferrari so until he´s out of Ferrari there is no point to mention Hamilton in all of this. He [Alonso] could stay there for 10 years! Their contracts will expire in 2012 so until then... Well anyway, time will tell.

Yes I do. I don't think Lewis actually gives a **** about Alonso, whereas Fernando seems to have a complex when it comes to Hamilton. So if Ferrari wanted Hamilton and vice versa, so long as FA does not have veto rights, then I think Hamilton would relish the challenge. Like any pure racer should.

I wouldn't bank on Alonso finishing his career at Ferrari either btw. Lets just call it a hunch.

Agree about the Honda V12 but....you have to love that MP4/4, it was an absolute monster raced by 2 all time greats. One of the last (and greatest) turbo cars.

Just wanted to say that (as usual) Lewis punched above his weight and delivered the best possible result from a worryingly off the pace Macca... he must be a bit concerned that their big upgrade did not give him the race pace he needed ... anyway he had a relatively quiet race but as usual pushed that car the whole race ...

He had a pretty subdued weekend by recent standards, but he still overcame a big loss of track time with a new and relatively poorly understood upgrade, then went on to make up for losing to his team mate in qually and salvaged at least one more place than the car deserves via a solid overtake into the hairpin on lap one. Not bad

I doubt if the car will be any quicker in Hungary next weekend and overtaking is almost impossible at that track after lap one so Hamilton's main race will probably be with Button again. McLaren really need to pull their collective finger out now and sort out that car. Otherwise they are going to throw away their best chance at the WCC since 2007.

Another great performance by Lewis. Man, if he wins this years WDC title its gonna be one of the most impressive and deserved WDC titles in the history.
