Yeah but I think all of the teams except red bull are scheduled to test first week of February - so at the very latest we'll get a look at all the cars by then.

I was hoping for something like this:

I have serious issues with that livery, and I've finally worked out what they are: there's too many lines, especially the little ones. I wouldn't mind it if it was simply yellow and black, with maybe a stripe of each colour in the other. But the collection of thin lines - like on the nose cone and at the back of the shark fin - just makes it a mess.
Muzzinho
Why not some Yellow and Silver/Chrome? Instead of Yellow and Black which does look too much like a Jordan.

We know that the car will most likely have the Red front and rear wings because of total.

And regarding the fake Renault car(RB5), the high point of the nose is just the outside ridges. The Drivers see through the Valley of the between the ridges. It just looks high from the side.

It's actually R29 with RB5 nose. Everything else is Renault. smile.gif

I don't think it would look too good. Can you imagine a McLaren with yellow in the place of the Vodafone red?

Depnd how its done. I agree its not the ideal marriage of colours.

Also, silver seem to have become the new blue-and-white. McLaren will certainly run it, while Mercedes havesaid their cars will be Silver Arrows and so everyone is beliving that to mean they'll incorporate silver. Or at least PETRONAS turquiose/teal, which is close enough. And Campos have been said to be kicking the colour around, not to mention Red Bull, for whom silver is a corporate colours (but they don't run it and haven't done so for a while now). So with as many as four teams carrying it, why add a fifth?

If Total is going to be Renault's major sponsor for 2010, I wouldn't mind seeing them do something similar to Force India, but with Total colours: white car, with red and orange down one side and silver and pink down the other. I know that sounds like a hideous combination and on par with their ING liveries, but only two colours would actually be appearing on either side of the car and red/orange and blue/pink are both close enough together that they would work together.
korzeniow
Livery of fire flames would be nice, from burning red on front wing to yellow burning flames. Rear wing don't have to be red smile.gif
Captain Tightpants
Flames are never an accepable livery, even if yor sponsor manufactuers flame throwers. The only time flames may appear on a racing car is when it is actually on fire.

Hot on the heels of McLaren, Renault have confirmed the launch date of their 2010 F1 car.

The R30 will be presented for the first time at the Valencia circuit on January 31st, the same day as BMW Sauber reveal their new car.

The first official F1 test of 2010 begins at the circuit the day after.

Watching your favourite team/driver making lap-times worse than Virgin/Sauber/Lotus can be a kind of depressive, isn't it?

Whether it was fellow Mclaren fans like myself last year, a major team always disappoints. Last year it was the so called established top 4 teams that dropped the ball. Who would have placed money on Toyota, Honda/Brawn, Williams and Red Bull being the top 4 teams up to mid season?

well, technically it's "two garages". this makes one beard per one garage - and is allowed by the FIA rules, i guess...;)

The old top 4 fell by the wayside in 2009, we now have a new top 4 in Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes and Red Bull.

Or at least at the moment we do.
Gareth
At the end of last season we did ...

If they kick off this season at the front, then I think talk of a "top 4" will be pretty valid and we can start to see F1 as returning to its old, slightly more stable, ways. Another mix up like last off season produced, though ...

I think Renault will surprise people this year. I think top 4 or maybe even top 3 in the WCC is possibility, with some podiums and a small chance at a race win.

There seems to be quite a bit of press recently to suggest that Heidfeld is not in the running for the Renault seat...

Yeah, it seems likely that Sato will get the nod, but who knows. I put a rumour about Heidfeld going to Stefan GP on the 2010 silly season and what about Nick Heidfeld? threads.

Manager of Sato said that there are no talks with Renault anymore. So if no rookie, no Nick and no Sato, then... JV? eek.gif

Takuma Sato's management has declined to comment on reports the Japanese is a leading candidate to fill the second Renault race cockpit in 2010.

But in Polish press they translated it to "Takuma Sato's management has declined that there are any talks with Renault" so sorry for the disinformation it's not my fault, or actually, it is, believing in unreliable sources is stupid smile.gif

Voted for Nick, I will be sooo disappointed if they take somebody slower (and everybody else available is slower)

I like Grosjean, so I voted for the guy smile.gif

I'm sure he would drive better than last year smile.gif

I'm teared apart, on one hand i dont like heidfeld, but on the other i think he deserves a drive in 2010. So... voted for nick.
santori
Autohebdo ran the same poll and Nick won and he seems the most popular choice amongst Renault fans but....

ohwell.gif

He's so obviously the right choice, and Renault is so obviously the right choice for him, that the fact that he hasn't been signed yet is making me doubtful that he will be.

I will try to guess: They don't consider JV as a contender for Reno's seat?
