Am I just late to the party or are those 2 extra BMW riders new? I remember hearing rumors about Mladin coming onto to a privateer BMW squad, but I dont remember ever hearing any official announcement about this squad or anything. Good to see Pitt back in, though. up.gif

Also, looks like Neukirchner is finally getting around to being his old self again.

Yamaha's seem a little off-the-pace, though.

Sykes again the fastest Kawasaki by a good bit.

I thought it was a really strange move. Pedercini is hardly a competitive team, running what is hardly a competitive bike at World Championship level. And Roger Hayden's always been at his best on a 600. Not that there are many rides around in World Supersport. It's going to be a difficult year, I suspect. frown.gif

Althea look like they've sorted out the Ducati. Possibly not surprising, if we're to believe the factory team's complaints that they've extracted every last bit of performance from the 1098R. Shane Byrne's due a good year in WSBK, I think.

Me too, but to be fair, it was his first day on the bike, and the first time he's ridden that track. And that bike hasn't ever set the world on fire in the first place.

Good to see Max N. keeping decent pace with Jonny Rea, finally. up.gif

What's wrong with Yamaha, out of the top 10 in WSB, and no bikes at all in WSS. I know they dropped the factory SS bikes, but it's hard to believe no one is running them.

I love little bikes... Shame the manufacturers are only interested in selling the big-margin monsters over here. The racing industry could do a lot worse than helping promote 80/125/250 competition in continental Asia. They could have a grand final in Macau. stoned.gif It would certainly be more sustainable and beneficial than these Rossi/Lorenzo tours around Thailand.

Good luck Chubby_Deuce! wave.gif

Agree Risil.
But here in India we have a different problem, the manufacturers don't see beyond economuters. They are fixated with mileage and nothing else. How else can you explain Hero Honda Splendor, the worlds largest selling 100cc bike with the same engine bar a few internal enhancements ever since it was introduced in early 90's.

Off late we do have the superbikes like the Busa, R1, CBR1K and GSXR1K available but the prices are more than double of what guys in the US would pay. mad.gif
Thank the myopic govt to levy 110% duty on imported bikes. SIGH!!

Enough of my rant and dont want to run this wonderful thread astray.

Cheers

Andy35
The Yamaha's down a bit, lots of Ducs at the top, Camier closer to Biaggi now.

BMW haven't really come on much it seems, but early days at the moment.

Also, add my best wishes to CD for his forthcoming season. All the best.

Well he's 2.5 seconds behind Vermuelen, so no, he's not quite on fire at the moment. If he can knock that down to a second or so by midseason, it'll be pretty good. Anymore than that, though, and he's gonna be back in the States in no time.

If Dovi can get within .4 of Stoner I am pretty sure Dani would be right on his pace come race time.

Simoncelli highsided badly after about an hour this morning and was taken to hospital. Still awaiting reports on how he is.

Gilles, news hot from the Island from macz--Max N. came off. Again. frown.gif Hope he hasn't lost his nerve.

What time are the WSBK on sunday?
Gilles4Ever
beat me to it.

Seems the big difference is that Rossi and Stoner are doing almost all their laps comfortably under 2:02s everyone else in the 03s and 04s

Mark has beaten violently on the helmet on the asphalt and was transported conscious, but in confusion, the hospital of the circuit. There, the Clinica Mobile have decided to upload Simoncelli on an ambulance to take him to a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur to submit it for a CAT scan: a precautionary measure, even considering the long flight to return to Italy.

My thoughts exactly regards Nicky! Great improvement, do wonders for his confidence, wait till he fully recovers!

On another note, cant wait to head to Phillip island tomorrow for the Supers. Ill be riding down with my Ninja supporting team green and Chris V. Id like to see them, and BMW higher up though.

I see WSBK season opener discussion is on in this silly season thread.

Shouldn't we change this thread title.
I suggest we change it to the "Official Motorcycle Racing Season 2010 thread" or something.

Mods?

One more thing, this could be handy to keep all moto related news and discussions in one thread given the small number of moto enthusiasts in here. Just a thought.

I wonder if all his hair helped with the impact? Seriously, you'd think it might add some cushioning. Hope he is ok.

Is now to dig up my old posts about Nicky getting better and deserving the ride? Maybe not .. bit early yet.

Bet the 2 USA riders at Yamaha are at the moment pretty happy. I think it will give Colin a spur to increase his pace a bit, so close at the moment, should be quite a few podiums between them. Yamaha is looking good at Speang, will be interesting to see if it continues at the next test.

I'm surprised the Yamaha's in WSB are trailing at the mo, hmmm?

They are suffering terribly from chatter, for this week end they have gone back to 2009 parts to try and cure it.
