just read it somewhere, that Fry will be replaced by the CEO of aabar, Mohamed Badawy Al Hussein (since aabar is holding 30 % of the shares)
Caroline McGory the legal representativ of MGP and Nigel Kerr (financial consultant), and other 2 names (yet unknown) are going to be replaced by experts from daimler.
Fry is said to be having contacts with lotus (replacing T. Fernandes)

He's freaking rich now though.
He and Brawn were co-owners of Brawn GP which was bought by Mercedes.
I'm sure he could happily sail off into the sunset.

I do wish that he would come back here, along with bira, just to watch her smack him around a little more.
I actualy found Sylt very good on the financial aspects of F1.
He's one of the few journalists that understands all the links in Bernies companies.
When it comes to F1 ownerships and money flow, Sylt and Terry Lovell are tops in this area.

I think today was a positive day for Mercedes at Jerez. I like the fact Michael did so many laps despite of the poor weather and IMO the lap times were good. Red Bull seemed a bit above everybody else today, but it could have been just their test program. Compared to McLaren and Ferrari Merc looked good today, IMO.
But of course it would have been good to see how much more laps Michael could have done in that long stint which was broken off by rain.

Michael Schumacher: “The weather was really changing all the time today which made it difficult to follow our planned programme and to have a clear picture of everyone’s performance. From the laps that we achieved, we have again confirmed the reliability of the car, and from the impressions and data gathered, we can say that the pace and performance looks very good. We have a strong basis to keep up the development this week here in Jerez and next week at the final test in Barcelona.”

Michael is not an idiot and he usually talkes his chances down rather than up.
So when he says the car is capable to fight for the championship, it´s certainly no dog.
Hopefully both drivers get enough dry track time this week (today/tomorrow should be the worst days) and enough important data for the team.

It seems like Schumacher has been constantly running with harder compound tyres, whereas Ferrari goes for the softer option:
http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2010/02/team...-plan-might-be/If this is 100% accurate I'd say MGP is in good shape and should be up there right from the beginning when the new aero package is in place. Then again, it's only winter testing...

to make such statements after just entering the sport just doesnt feel anyone with confidence... even if they hit the ground running, are they gonna bail when things get tough? and it will get tough..
matter of fact, Id put my money on Red Bull, Ferrari or Mclaren to win the title b4 MGP

What is the white things on the Mercedes front brakes ? They drive with them yesterday morning.
http://f1.gpupdate.net/en/photolarge.php?p...&catID=4646About diffuser if there isn't new one , they will just have to drive and fight with old one. And with this aero package the car is doing pretty well. I don't see other "extreme" diffusers to make big difference. And if there is a new one, how will they know which is better on the track?
Timstr11
Feb 18 2010, 19:02
Tape to cater for cooler conditions. Less brake cooling required.
QUOTE (ivand911 @ Feb 18 2010, 19:58)

And if there is a new one, how will they know which is better on the track?
By doing back-to back tests, which is the normal procedure.
Teams also run load cells which measure downforce.

Mercedes must win to stay in F1 - Zetschehttp://www.f1reports.com/f1/article/4231/ I suspect there must still be some displeasure still being expressed by some powerful voices back at Stuttgart and Zetsche is throwing out these words to try and calm things down. This however does not mean these are not true statements and this may introduce some nervousness into some Mercedes F1 team members reading this.
