Massa conceded an interview to Brazilian journo Felipe Motta of Jovem Pan and, when asked what happened to Kimi in Ferrari, he answered this:
QUOTE
Well, in my opinion, nothing happened [to Kimi]. Kimi is a great driver. Always has been. For me, nothing happened between the Kimi from 2007 and Kimi from 2009 or 2008. If you go check, we had a very competitive championship in 2007, me and Kimi.
If you look at Monza, I had an 8-point advantage over him. It was Monza, at the end of the season. If you look at qualifyings, I was better than him. I started in fron of him more than he did in front of me. But there came Monza and in the worst scenario I would finish 3rd as Kimi was having a hard time in Monza and I was 3rd and the gap between us would increase to 10, 11 or 9, depending on the case.
At that moment in the championship, I was going to turn into the 1st driver. In the end he would have to help me to challenge for the championship, but I had a car failure and I fell down on the standings and then came Spa. In Spa, there was no way around Kimi. It´s the track he masters like no one in my opinion. He won the race and I came 2nd, so he took 2 further points off me.
And then came the moment when there was the need to decide, because if not Ferrari wouldn´t stand a chance to challenge for the championship. At that point I was 4 or 5 points behind and I couldn´t say anything. Let´s work for the team. But it was a very competitive year. It wasn´t a year where Kimi was any different from 2008 and 2009. So, to me, Kimi hasn´t changed a bit.

Whilst I agree in part, as much as Raikkonen was disappointing against Massa, this bang on the head seems to have turned Massa into a bit of an ass recently. We lauded him for the sporting way he took his defeat last year, but now he's starting to come out with these statements.

I think he's cool

I like drivers speaking their minds, especially on their mother tongues when they think the Anglo-Saxon people aren't listening

Alonso's Spanish interviews are also the stuff of a legend, not to mention what Kimi says in Finnish

Well, if I we go back to Interlagos 2008 Massa said "I know how to win, but I also know how to lose". I probably paraphrase, but he said something definitely along those lines and I think we all remmeber and understand the sentiments. Once you come up with a statement like that, you have to back it up and for all intents and purposes he did. But now he's came out with this (shows not being able to lose) and also having a snipe in an interview about last years finale about something.
If you want to be known as a gracious loser (that sounds worse than I mean it to sound - since I would like to see Massa win a WDC), you can't subsequently go around being bitter about the times you lost or saying you won when you blatantly didn't.

Oh please, Massa had reliability problems in Australia and Silverstone as well. He definitely had more bad luck in 2007. If Kimi didn't beat him in France I doubt he would've gotten preference at the end of the year
Felipe baby needs that praise. He needs people give him that mental coaching and say that Felipe is the best. If he doesn't get that, he gets weak and insecure of his abilities. This is why he will struggle against Alonso when the intra-team battles start inside the team.
There will be time though where Domenicali/Monty regrets their driver pairing for next season.

Massa has nothing to worry about after all he has a contract with Ferrari who supports him 100%.
Massa is pathetic. If he doesn't get his perception straight he will never achieve anything important. Right now he looks like a sore looser only... Same old crap like in the past "boohoo there was something wrong with the car" "waaaah it was not my fault" bullshit. I so hope this mungo fails horribly in 2010 and loses his job over it.

I think there is a good chance we will hear a lot more moaning next year. Alonso will give him more mental challenge than Kimi did, and I think it will make Massa crack under pressure. It will not be good for him if he gets embarrassed both on and off track. But I will enjoy it.
Fact is Ferrari didn't replace the weaker driver of the two with Alonso only because he got injured.

Thanks. And there we have it- no controversy at all.
why so much hate? he is just saying that kimi from 2007-2008-2009 was the same
Massa is mostly right. There are certain tracks that Kimi just goes into another level. Hungary, Magny Cours, Spa. But for the vast majority of races Felipe was the more robust and reliable driver.
That's why Felipe still has a seat, and Kimi is going back to McLaren.
Kimi earned his title in 2007 though. It's true Ferrari backed him, and so, therefore, did Felipe. Kimi did the same thing in 2008 for Felipe. Swings and roundabouts.
