the 2008 cars had roughly the same aero efficiency the big difference was that the ferrari was really kind on its tires and the mclaren really worked them. from a downforce stand point they were not separated by much (if any)

and that will be one of the very interesting variables to watch this year, both brawn and ferrari were kind to its tires, while red bull and mclaren worked their tires harder. Both have advantages, although i think Mclarens were almost spot on. No problems getting temp, on qual lap, no prob getting temp during wet conditions, but still no problem using soft compound. Brawns was perhaps to soft. Problems during qual, especially.
You loose more if you cant get the tires into optimum operation temp, then if it uses them a little to hard i think.

Both Ferrari's dominated at Barcelona in 2008, a track where aero performance really shows. A good place for winter testing because of it.

It's not like both Ferraris and Brawns suffered from low tyre temps, that was more on Button and Raikkonen's side of things, Massa and Barrichello coped much better and proved how quick the car could be in both qualifying and the race. Too many times in 2008 did we see the McLaren's fade from the Ferrari pace when Ferrari weren't having any troubles.

McLaren struggled with tire wear there. On Silverstone which is just as aero demanding Mclaren dominated all 3 days. Same with China.

From having no work to do during normal work hours, to having to work AFTERHOURS... I JUST got home, which means I'm going to probably be asleep through the launch, and considering I have to get up early for work again, tomorrow, I'm going to have to see what the car looks like on my tiny phone screen.

So disappointed

Ughhh

i got home from wrk an hour ago (about 3pm) and ive got nothing to do all night except sit infront of my laptop and watch, hope this makes you happier haha

As I take a closer look at the covered picture of the MC Car at the internet site I believe that the new car is camouflaged some how beneath the last year one, for example at the engine cover area!
And maybe or better I hope that is how it will be revealed at least through the internet
ashnathan
i was thinking the same but more infront of the cockpit opening then all the way at the end of the nosecone, see its kinda layered but alot higher?

or maybe my eyes are just messing with me, ant been to bed yet, didnt want to sleep through the launch due to a late night... smile.gif

Won't it be a hoot if Mclaren roll out a hideous looking car?

After all the photographers have taken their pictures and had them posted on websites, after a short speech by Whitmarsh and some comments by the drivers have been given, after all the hoopla has died down, only THEN does Mclaren announce that they're just messing with us and bring out the REAL car for 2010. drunk.gif
