well, if they resort to the point standings to set the field that will be a big + for JPM, but also for the guys he's chasing...

monty not off to a good start, not liking his set-up. figures they can qualify around 25th as it is now, taking a big swing @ it after practice.

Live QuallyMonty 14th in practice.
Time to put a lap down, doesn't look like a fast ride off the trailer, which hasn't happened to them in awhile.
Think JPM will lean on the wall again?
Is he bringing another new car?

Second laps are strangely slower for everyone so far.

Johnson just rules the Chase, huh? Pretty amazing watching car after car dip at the end against his turns 3 and 4.

Well Papis made the race. Seems to be getting better at qualifying, but he still totally sucks for pace in the race.
JPM's #42 team have some work to do.

How to Stop Jimmy Johnson In the Chase This guy has come up with a way to stop JJ come Chase time in 2011
Who's P7 Mike Bliss? WTF? Nascar is funny sometimes. So many drivers I've never even heard about can qualify 7th! The guy apparently is in since 1975?
I'm sure Monty is going to be fine on race pace.

JJ on pole again. Pffft. Race over.
In fact, JJ will win his 4th consecutive title and probably win the next 4 seasons.
Can't help to think it's all done and dusted.

Yeah it's NASCAR racing.
Buy an old car and old motor, gather some mates and qualify in 7th. Yeeha

awesome job by Jimmie. They really know how to get it in gear for 10 races. And I still hate the chase.
Some work to do tomorrow.
Go 42!!

they're a really small team, something like 30 people or so in total. but; they bought their car from RCR, along with some tech support - and poof seventh place.

30 ppl for 1 car? How many heads per car is the avg NASCAR team? A 2 car GP2 team is about 15, about the same is F3ES team and there are teams from 15 ppl with 4 cars in FR2.0:)

A quick peek at the
Hendicks site
says there are three distinct departments, Engine, Chassis and Human Performance (Pit Crews, training staff)
For a 4 car team they have 80+ guys in the engine shop and 80+ in the Human Performance end, doesn't say how
many in the chassis dept. but I would imagine about the same or maore than the engine shop.
So the Hendicks team averages about 60 guys per car.
That probably isn't accounting for their own air force of pilots and ground crews or their ground transport and hospitality, so add another 60 or so personnel there, and you are up to 75 people per car.

they probably have around 12-15 at the track. but they have a couple people @ the shop getting another one together, some office people talking with sponsors, truck drivers, camper drivers, and so on.... most of the big teams in nascar support around a hundred employees.

that's some good stuff. They're really been dressing Juan and the car in some very nice liveries.
The black Polaroid look really made me think he's the new Intimidator. The blue just looks nice. I think it's more slimming than the red!
