I have just been in conversation with the owner of a 1959 Monoposto. Do we have a established guru for this genre, save as ever and always Duncan.

Is there are particular monoposto you are asking about?

I know Duncan is working on a "Black Book" containing UK Monoposto and F4 results up to 1976 (which means that my ignominious racing debut in Monoposto just scrapes in). He rang me the other day to ask about Cirrus 004 - I don't know how he finds the time. He's a solicitor by day, runs the Historic FJ Association (ably assisted by daughter Sarah) in the evenings, researches race results and history for the Black Books, always carries a notebook to note chassis numbers and registrations, and still does more races per season (all over Europe) than just about anyone in the UK.
I introduced him to Mallory Dan at Cadwell earlier this season, and his eyes lit up at the mention of Dan's Mallory programme collection...
So, I guess - Duncan's your man!

I introduced him to the owner of an obscure French FJ (Jordan pace Eddie) at Pau, as somebody said "He'll be so excited I bet he doesn't sleep tonght"

John,
The man who won't sleep is the DRIVER of the obscure FJ: the idea this old poetic Gordini thing could race with real racing cars is terrific!
Probably it's better to stay in the garage: no speed problems, no homologation problems...and it's true in the future, we need a place for "nices old things" like this.

I am sure we could get it out to 1100cc all the others are, there was nothing at Monza running with 1000cc even though a lot of them started life as that size. I wonder if they ever put them on a weighbridge

Couldn't you try Frank Tiedeman who was a founder of the Monoposto Register as it was then?

You may be right Tony, I have a contact address for him so will drop him a line, I imagine that he has somewhere a copy of the original Register(if it ever existed as such).
